license to thrill

The last fortnight was full of action, witty lines, fancy gadgets, grandiose villains, femmes, racing sequences, a predictable winner, and lastly entertaining films..

Based on one of the frequent spurs, I tend to have; I decided to watch the whole list of 007 movies. The franchise count is 21 so far, with the 22nd (Quantum of Solace) in the reckoning, a couple of months from now. Also realized that only EON Productions counted for official 007 movies. This probably left out the 1967 Casino Royale and the 1983 Never Say Never Again, leave aside the Radio, TV Episode and the Cartoon series.

Not to mention, watching those 21 films in their created order was a nice way to look at the celluloid advancements of the films..

  • Dr. No
  • From Russia with Love
  • Goldfinger
  • Thunderball
  • You Only Live Twice
  • On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
  • Diamonds are Forever
  • Live and Let Die
  • The Man with the Golden Gun
  • The Spy Who Loved Me
  • Moonraker
  • For Your Eyes Only
  • Octopussy
  • A View to a Kill
  • The Living Daylights
  • License to Kill
  • GoldenEye
  • Tomorrow Never Dies
  • The World Is Not Enough
  • Die Another Day
  • Casino Royale
  • Quantum of Solace (yippee)

and ..

I enjoyed the starting sequences of GoldenEye and Casino Royale, very much. And it’s almost like ‘Travel & Living’, wherein the Spy has a different corner of the world to visit, every time he tracks down his nemesis.

Genteel start plots, the disaster, the intro, the call, the hat to the coat hanger, the Moneypenny glance, M & Q, the venture, the girls, the adventure, shaken but not stirred vodka martini , Walther PPK, cool cars, amusing lines, save the world, the climax..

Keep them coming, I am not yet bored of it.
